Your hosts
Hi, we're Pete & Karen Sayer - your hosts at Waingarara Valley.
We had always dreamt of one day opening our own rural events venue, and in 2020 that dream became a reality. The perfect property in the hills of Wainui (between Opotiki and Ohope Beach) came on the market and we were able to buy it.
In late 2021, with the building work finally complete, we opened Waingarara Valley - a rustic-style venue surrounded by stunning scenery that provides the perfect backdrop for your special event.
At Waingarara Valley Wedding Venue, you’re not just a business transaction. We treat every wedding with the care and attention it deserves because this is a once-in-a-lifetime day that you’ll remember forever.
Wedding Flowers by Karen
As one of your hosts at the Waingarara Valley Wedding & Event Venue, Karen will work closely with you to ensure your flowers are picture-perfect on the day. This is an optional add-on to our standard venue hire, Karen can take care of all your floristry needs, from table arrangements to bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres.
In her 22 years as a florist, Karen has worked in Amsterdam, Netherlands and Stratford Upon Avon, England, as well as throughout New Zealand. Working with your colour theme and other wedding elements, she can create any style you desire.
